Sikh bodies opens new frong against Noormehal dera

AMRITSAR: After mobilizing the masses against Sirsa dera head in Malwa region by undergoing seven Khalsa Marches, the Khalsa Action Committee (KAC) has resolved to take out next Khalsa March in Doaba region targeting Divya Jyoti Jagran Sansthan Noormehal chief Aushotosh for his anti-Sikh activities and practices.

The members of the committee who met under the chairmanship of Bhai Mohkam Singh decided in principle to expose and contain the activities of Aushotosh who, like Gurmit Ram Rahim was also misleading the Sikhs by claiming himself as a “living guru”- the concept in contrast to Sikh principles. The meet also took decision to expand the committee by inducting 7 more members in it.

Informing the media about the various decisions, the committee spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh said 7 more personalities have been inducted in the committee that includes Luvjeet Singh from Ek Noor Khalsa, Baba Hardeep Singh of Gurusar mehraj, Baba Gurmit Singh from Sirsa, Baba Buta Singh, Darshan Singh Mand beside representatives from Nihang Singh jatha – Baba Gajjan Singh & Baba Wassan Singh.

Hitting at Akali government for setting up of a chair in GNDU in the name of “Satguru” Ram Singh, the KAC said we have strong objections as it amounts to encouraging the concept of Gurudom, which was in contrast to beliefs and philosophy of Sikhism. “We had respect for Baba Ram Singh as he contributed a lot in the Kuka movement against British occupation. So we urge Parkash Singh Badal and GNDU VC to name the chair as Baba Ram Singh chair instead of “Satguru” Ram Singh
said the press release. We also urge the chief minister to set up the chairs after the names of Giani
Dit Singh and Prof Gurmukh Singh who were the pioneers of the Singh Sabha Lehar.

He said the committee has succeeded in exposing the misdeeds of Sirsa Dera by organizing the Khalsa Marches in Malwa region. He said the 8th March would be held in Ludhiana district on August 19.

Encouraged by the overwhelming support the KAC got during the marches, he said we would now be focusing in Doaba and Majha region too. He said the Ninth Khalsa March would be in the area of Nurmehal on Sep 9 clearly targeting Aushotosh. “The aim is to bring back the followers of Aushotosh into Sikh fold who have been mislead or lured by him”.

In pursuit to save Sikh youth from the scourge of drug abuse, he said the KAC would undertake a march in Amritsar on September 20 to spread awareness against the increased use of drugs amongst youth. Like Chandigarh, we aim to make this holy city free from the influence of drugs that had taken the toll of Punjabi youth”, said Kanwar Pal.

In another important decision, the KAC decided to hold a Panthic Convention on Oct 20 at Gurdwara Gurusar Mehraj in Bhatinda district to mark the occasion of Gurgadi divas of Guru Granth Sahib. “It is going to be a mega event that would certainly give impetus and new direction to our struggle against Gurudom”.

The meeting was attended by Bhai Jasbir Singh Rode, Karnail Singh Panjoli, Harinder Singh Khalsa, R P Singh, Gaini Harinder Singh, Advocate D S Gill, Ragbir Singh Rajasansi and Paramjit Singh Gazi.
