Sikh leader Simranjit Singh Mann released from Jail after 3 months and 3 days

maansmall.jpg Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann, who last night released from Central Jail, Ludhiana after three months and three days along with other party activists said that his party would hold a political rally on August 22 at Sunam to lodge their protest over the death sentences awarded to Jagtar Singh Hawara and Balwant Singh and Mohammad Afzal. Talking to media persons at his residence Quila Harnam Singh Mann accompanied by Gurdeep Kaur Chatha from Batala, who had also released recently with Mann, said that condemned death sentence to Hawara, Balwant and Afzal.He said that his party would not allow controversial Baba Piara Singh Bhaniarewale to observe his birth anniversary function on August 23 in Rupnager district. He said that his party is against Bhaniarewale and birth anniversaries of Sikh Gurus should be observed not of controversial Babas. He alleged that Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his family members are protecting people like Bhaniarewale.

He said that now his party will play the actual role of opposition as Congress leaders Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, Shamsher Singh Dullo, Capt Amarinder Singh,BSP, CPI, CPM, Balwant Singh Ramoowalia led Lok Bhalia party has failed to do their actual role of opposition.

He held Badal responsible for Dera Sacha Saudha row. He alleged that at the behest of Badal a false case was registered against him and his associates. He said that though Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale had declared national hero from Akal Takht but he was denigrated by a English weekly by terming ‘villain’. He said that such treatment is given to Sikhs as neither SGPC nor Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee is serious about it and both the bodies never called session to discuss serious issues and passed resolution.

On asked to comment on the Khalsa Action Committee (KAC) decided to launch a mass movement against controversial godman — Ashutosh, chief of the Divya Jagran Jyoti Sansthan (DJJS) in the Doaba region, for his alleged anti-Panthic activities from August 19, Mann said that though his party is against Ashotosh but will not support KAC. He said that his party will not follow any such organisation but other organisations can follow the programmes of his party.

He indirectly criticized  KAC by saying that his party can not face insult by acts like organizing press conference at the residence of a SSP. On the battle between the government and the vice-chancellor of Punjabi University Swaran Singh Boparai, Mann said that government should not interfere in the working of the university. He said that there is move to remove Boparai at behest of Sukhbir Badal to re-appoint Jasbir Singh Ahluwalia as V-C of the university, who had earlier removed from the university.

On witnesses turned hostile in the Badal disproportionate assets case in the Court of Special Judge at Rupnager, Mann said that strict action would be taken against these persons. He said that even police cases should register against these persons. He said that if these persons were claiming that they had pressurized by certain police officials to go against Badal then action should be taken against these police officials. He said that now Badal is supporting these police officials. He said that he had also moved application in the court about the Badal case but it was not seriously taken.

He said that there is one-sided decision against Sikhs in Punjab and Sikhs are being targeted. He said that even Prime Minister did not speak even a single word.He said that there is highhandedness of ruling SAD-BJP government in recent held Municipal Corporation elections.  He said that inhuman treatment was given to BIS Chahal and Jasbir Dimpa in jail which is violation of human rights.
