Anandpur Sahib: A court at Anandpur Sahib on Saturday issued Non-bailable warrants of former SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur for repeatedly showing disobedience to the court in case registered against her in December 2003 for violating prohibitory orders.
Jatinder Kaur Walia Sub divisional Judicial Magistrate also canceled the state governments application to withdraw case against Bibi Jagir Kaur and ordered her and 11 other accused to appear in court on 11 November. The court had earlier issued non-bailable warrants against Bibi Jagir Kaur on September 15 to appear today but Bibi Jagir Kaur defied it again.Judge took serious note of defiance of court orders and asked the police to ensure her presence in the court on next date of hearing. She also asked other accused, present today to appear on November 11.
The police had registered case against Bibi when she along with 11 others violated prohibitory orders at the time of arrest of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal in corruption case in 2003.
Bibi Jagir Kaur told media persons that she will challenge the order of Anandpur Sahib court in higher court indicating that she is not ready to appear in the court on next day even.
Meanwhile, SGPC President Avtar Singh Makkar flays Bibi Jagir Kaur for issuing statement that women should be allowed to perform kirtan in Golden Temple sanctum spectrum. He said that she should implement it when she was president.
